Judy Berk is a former kindergarten and early-elementary teacher with 35 years of classroom experience, bringing a deep understanding of childhood, curiosity, and storytelling to every book she writes. After reading thousands of children’s stories aloud throughout her career, Judy now creates her own stories rooted in family, cooperation, gentle adventure, and imagination. Her writing reflects a lifelong passion for helping young readers fall in love with books, language, and learning. Judy lives in Pensacola, Florida, and continues to write stories meant to be shared—at bedtime, in classrooms, and during those quiet moments children remember long after the story ends.
Judy loves creating stories that feel both familiar and new—often inspired by classic fairytales and nursery rhymes, but reimagined with fresh adventures and a lot of heart. Her storytelling world began with Goldifox and the Three Hares in the cozy town of Carrot Top and continues to grow, with more adventures on the way, including a sequel and a Christmas story. Whether it’s the warm, welcoming world of the Three Hares and Little Sprout, the playful charm of beloved “stuffies,” or the curious mysteries solved by Droolius Cheester (with the occasional appearance from Goldifox), her books celebrate family, teamwork, humor, and gentle problem-solving—inviting children and the grown-ups beside them into stories they’ll want to return to again and again.
